The Art Program is a special class offered to Four year olds and Kindergarten Enrichment students.
It provides students a structured environment in which to explore the principles of line, color, texture, shape and patterns while encouraging individual creativity. Students create projects inspired by artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, Jackson Pollack and Piet Mondrian, using varied mediums including clay, beads, paint and pastels. The class is guided by a dedicated art teacher.
Kindergarten Enrichment is an exciting, yet warm and comfortable after school experience for children in morning Kindergarten.
The hallmark of "KE" program is the Children Celebrate program in which students learn the culture, climate and lore of children in countries around the world. Students help choose how their time is planned. Their freedom of choice ranges from voting on which games to play on Game Thursday to deciding on service projects. Activities include performing plays, non-competitive games, outside play, jewelry making, baking, sewing, and discussions over lunch. The class features guest speakers and performers, music classes, and field trips such as visits to the Art Center, the theater and other local sights.
Class size is eighteen students with three professional teachers.
